True, but when I first bought it I would go on some much longer rides and was fine. I also wouldn't bat an eye at keeping that seat for "touring". It just works for me.

I do. The 58,800 miles on the Busa will attest to that.

I use the stock seat. I will on occasion use a pair of padded bicycle shorts. That helps eliminate the hotspots.

I can do 1000 mile days all day long with or without the padded shorts. Granted, the stock seat on the Busa isn't too bad. Maybe some of you are just pansies. LOL

i used a gel seat pad and it worked great, much cheaper

the second gen seats are too soft.

A Busa is much more akin to touring than an R1...I could see where the stock R1 seat might not be sufficient for touring purposes and a stock Busa seat might.

Keep in mind my R1 is a 2000 and is less race-replica than 03-04+ sport bikes.
