Default Facebook users are morons.

Saw this on Daring Fireball:

‘Facebook Login’ ★
Fascinating. ReadWriteWeb has a weblog post that ranks highly in Google’s search results for “Facebook login”. The comments on the post are filled with complaints from confused people who think that this is the new Facebook login page.

It’s funny, yes, but it’s a fascinating glimpse at just how confused many people are about how web sites and browsers work. They don’t use bookmarks, they don’t type “facebook.com” in the location field. They just Google for whatever they’re looking for and assume the first result is correct. All this argument over whether the iPad is too simple — if anything it’s probably still too complex.

Read some of the commments, its pretty sad, they even had to put up a disclaimer.

Dear visitors from Google. This site is not Facebook. This is a website called ReadWriteWeb that reports on news about Facebook and other Internet services. You can however click here and become a Fan of ReadWriteWeb on Facebook, to receive our updates and learn more about the Internet. To access Facebook right now, click here. For future reference, type "facebook.com" into your browser address bar or enter "facebook" into Google and click on the first result. We recommend that you then save Facebook as a bookmark in your browser.

Oh, I don't think that's specific to Facebook users - a ton of people navigate that way and it's scary....

You can bet these aren't today's youth that are confused by this. It's probably my mom, who just popped up on Facebook recently.

My kid knew how to flip through pics and switch apps on the iPhone when he was 1, and at 2 he knows which two remotes to grab (and which buttons to push) to turn on the TV and watch his favorite DVDs. It's kinda scary, because we never showed him any of that.

Did you read the comments? None of those people confused were "today's youth".
