Sweetie, it depends on your definition of good.

I've got 2 P&S's and my DSLR.

Call some of us "picture snobs" if you will, but I agree with Mudpuppy. I carry a P&S everywhere and have been so underwhelmed by the shots I've tried to get on the spur of the moment, I will probably never buy another. A good bit of the time I do carry the DSLR everywhere if I know I may have a chance to get a good shot. But look at it this way, when I go to the track with buddies to get some amateur shots, I will take 100 or more pics to get 1 really good one. And I'm still not usually happy with it. By the time a full day has passed I'll have taken more than 1000 shots. When I go hiking or 4wheeling I take the DSLR, because I never know when I'm going to get the PERFECT shot. And I'll take 20 different shots of the exact same thing to get it juuuuuust right. Your average person isn't going to do that. Especially with a P&S.

We camera nuts are exactly that, NUTS.

Why don't you just agree to disagree?
