Just bought this...

It is supposed to be rated up to 600 lbs and the bike isn't near that much. Hell it was just as expensive as the ramps I wanted except I get to use my bed space and I feel that I can safely load and unload the bike on my own. I should find out this afternoon or tomorrow whether my bike is totaled or not but I am rolling the dice and going with no. If not, this can just go to Alaska and get sold again lol. The insurance lady said I could take the bike with me and drop it off up there for repairs. I am sure there is at least one bike repair shop in all of Alaska. And on top of all of this, I reserved a uhaul car carrier and I plan to take apart my Mustang tomorrow and then tow it to southern Illinois where it will sit till I win the lottery and fix it up again. Also put my first tank of diesel in the F250 and I managed about 16 mpg and that was with a wonderfully heavy foot.

I just don't feel right about those. Maybe if they attached in two or more points I would, but not with just the single receiver. ???

Can't do it. My beast wouldn't fit even with the tailgate off. Put it in the bed, strap it down, and pack shit around it.

Ah that thing is fine! Although I will say that the original ones came with three mounting points....
If it were me,I'd mount the thing and then use two ratchet straps on each end of it to further secure it to the hitch. To be honest,it's highly unlikely to the point of impossibility that a 400 lb bike could cause that 2" ,1/4 thick + steel tube to "twist" in the receiver. There's basically only 200 lbs to each side of the pivot... |

I bought a 4x8 tilt trailer from harbor freight for cheaper. Put a $25 chock and boom better option.
