Three men accused of stealing motorcycles

By Juana Summers | Friday, June 12, 2009, 02:25 PM

Austin police are looking for a man who they say stole four motorcycles in March with two other men, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police say David Nutt, 18, and Cody Hudson, 21, stole the bikes between March 3 and March 21, the affidavit said. James Burden III, 21, was present when the motorcycles were stolen but did not actively help steal them because of a broken hip, the document said.

The men worked together to steal motorcycles, police say, and took them to a rented storage unit in Austin, according to the document. The value of the four stolen motorcycles combined is more than $25,000, the affidavit said.

The four motorcycles were a 2006 silver Honda CBR600R, a 2007 red and black Yamaha R6, a 2005 tan Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and a 2006 black Honda CBR600R, the document said.

Nutt has been charged with theft, a third-degree felony, the affidavit said. He has not been arrested, court records show, and bail is set at $40,000.

Burden and Hudson are in the Travis County Jail on theft charges, records show.
