Default Juice rant

I read labels. Manufacturers apparently can't be trusted to state correctly on the front of the label what shit is, so I read the fine print.

One thing that chaps my ass with regularity [insert prune juice joke here] is bottled juice products.

Example...

Juice bottle label proclaims:

Cran-Raspberry
100% Juice

You might expect that to be Cranberry, and Raspberry juice...but a quick look at the ingredients list reveals a concoction that instead often begins with apple or white grape juices, listing Cranberry & Raspberry only further down the ingredients list.

Why is this allowed? Don't fucking tell me it's this kinda juice on the front, and then list the real deal on the back. That's bullshit. It's fucking bait-and-switch, and it's not allowed in any other form of sales...why juice???

WTF??

Apple and grape juice are the cheapest, which is why they do that.

If it was 100% cranberry juice, they would have said so. But they didn't --- they simply said 100% juice.

Trust me, I know the game, and I always watch for it, but it's a deceptive sales practice essentially amounting to bait-and-switch, and it should not be allowed.

Well, they're already required to list all the ingrediants, isn't that enough? Think of it this way, you and I already read the ingrediants, and we deserve to be rewarded for our intelligence. Let the Great Unwashed suffer for their stupidity.

Getting burned = a lesson in real life.

Why? Does America stand for deception? Or for making good money doing honest work?

They don't own me, but they do piss me off, and make me grumble, because I know a lot of folks don't read the ingredients list, and just [mistakenly] assume they can trust the big label in front.

They shouldn't be allowed to grossly misrepresent the product that way.
