Will work for food?
When is the last time you saw a “Will work for food” sign?
Around here we have: Lost it all / Disabled Vet / Homeless and Hungry / Need help /etc. followed with a please help and/or God Bless. Some don’t even bother with a sign and just hold out a hat. Has the old “help me out because I can’t get a job” given way to “give me money, this is my job”?

I've seen several recently that I too thought were kind of daring, or even demanding and thought The ones here all seem to be white males between 40-70 Mom saw one a few weeks ago that she actually didn't feel like finished his "shift" and walked over to a parking lot and got into a car to drive HOME, and ran up the road to get him a hamburger. He had a sign that said "Hungry, Please help" She came back to the intersection with a burger in the bag and handed it to him. He said "I don't want that shit lady" and threw it down if the curb hadn't been so tall I'm quite certain she'd ran his ass over after that.

The local news followed a few of the "homeless" around here and caught a few in upper-middle class homes with plenty of money, one guy using his kid to help get drug money, one using his buddy's kid and one guy they thought was a laywer who drove off in a Mercedes or something. The ones I usually see are lazy fucks that live in a trailer park a few blocks from Virginia Beach. I followed one pair to see them buy beer, Chinese food and wax for a bitchin 71 Dodge demon. Around here we have more jobs than bodies to fill them. The best I saw was "Student, broke needs beer...future of your country", he got a laugh and a fiver.

Now that the weather is cooling down here, I fully expect them at every major intersection. I have only seen 2 so far.
The local news did a story last summer where they dressed a guy up (long mangy wig and beard) and had him hold a sign on a busy intersection. He got $350 in just over 8 hours. The next day they gave him a new intersection (and a dog), and he got almost $500, and a 25lb bag of dog food.
