Probably just as well.
The rebels were going to try him in Libya rather than packing him off to The Hague, and that would have been more of a sentencing than a trial.

My how the political landscape of the Middle East has changed in the last several months.

Yeah, we probably just lost one of the few middle eastern leaders who hated Al Queda more than us. So much so that the CIA would line prisoners in gitmo up on a runway and place a peice of tape on their shirt that said "Libya" or "Egypt" like that is where they are being moved to. They'd break down on the runway and give up all the info they knew.

Personally I don't really care becuase he was a cruel leader but he also helped us a ton when it came to terrorist organizations. But I see absolutly no reason why NATO or the US had to get involved.

It also bugs me how when showing the video of the rebels shooting guns up on the air to celebrate, they refer to them as troops or soldiers.

I doubt the passengers of Pan Am 103 would agree with you.

One of the earlier reports I saw was that he was shot in the legs then quickly put in an ambulance and shot

Good point. Forgot about that shit until that guy got his heros welcome in Lybia. Not so sure how Kadafi(?) is connected, though it wouldn't suprise me. He always seemed more of a thorn in our side that would bash us and then go "oh by the way, I got this Al Queda guy I think you want".

I'm more curious what kind of state Lybia will become. Are they going to be ran by what is basically the Taliban or are we talking a more liberated, now topless beach, Lybia.

Were any Libyans actually paying attention to him over the last couple months?

Just the ones who were cowering in their homes, afraid to go outside due to roaming death squads.

Other than that, no one was paying any attention...
