Cause it isn't professional looking. What would you think if your lawyer or judge had a style like that?
Besides kinda like how they ask female cops to put their hair in ponytails. Help explain something that just seems apparent to you and I. |

In the military...female members with long hair must keep it up and away from the face...just a standard I guess. |

I agree, but America is still essentially a white man's world where whites dictate what is acceptable, what is beautiful, what is low-class, etc. LOL and this is coming from a white guy. I can guarantee that if the US was majority Black, cornrows would be considered acceptable. And as far as women are concerned, Black women would leave their hair in its natural state instead of straightening it. The only reason they straighten it is to be taken seriously by society, to land a good job, instead of being called a nappy-headed ho by some idiot like Imus, and also because they are influenced by Hollywood's white-biased image of beauty, that you can only be beautiful if you have straight hair. How many models do you know with natural African curls.

And mommy naming them shamiqua or loquanna def helps them land good jobs. Saw an article a while back how women are changing their names so they are taken more seriously. |

It just seemed like an odd question to post right after you asked it. I mean, to quote the article: Quote:
