I have a 2nd helmet that has a clear visor that I grab if I'm going to be riding at night.

Got Lasik (actually PRK) and one issue is your eyes don't produce as much moisture. The side effect of that when riding is you get all kinds of crap in your eyes for a while. I've had to retire my AGV helmet because it was constantly directing crap into my eyes, much worse than other lids. I didn't have a problem before surgery.

I have seen too many ppl get stuck out at night with a tinted visor and have to ride home in scary conditions

Since this is posted under "Track" I'd assume you're not going to get "stuck" out there

Dark smoke shield. I rarely ride at right and if I know I am going to be out at dark I will switch to clear before I leave the house. I have on a couple of occasions been caught out with a dark shield at night. Not fun. You just have to take the well lit roads home.

That's why I posted it in this section. But interesting to hear a street point of view too.
