I hate ICON, had a helmet of theirs a while back and it fell apart on me. All the plastic stick on parts cracked and fell off, the vents all stopped working, and it fogged up any time there was a little bit of moisture in the air

Um are they dead or have head injuries? Well, I guess that the lid did it's job!

That being said, I don't like Icon lids either... It's actually one of the only types of helmet that I don't own (other than a passenger lid) that I don't want to own. My passenger lid, top of the line Icon at the time, has had parts fall off it, quit working etc. I'm sure that it would protect someone in a crash but I expect more than that from a $300+ lid.

Like Tigger said, if they have the ability to make that descision then it did its job.

BTW, no helmet should be used after it has hit the ground, so if your friends won't buy icon because it can't be crashed and reworn, maybe it is the perfect helmet for them.

Disclaimer:I have never owned anything from Icon.

Does anyone wear ICON in racing? AMA, WSBK, BSS, or any other level?

I agree with what was said here, but for the money that Icon cost it shouldnt fall apart before it hits the ground.

I love a lot of the graphics but I'm going Scorpion for my next lid.

Haha that is one way to look at it. One of the guys has been in quite a few wrecks track riding and he said for how lightly his head hit the ground, the helmet was all but destroyed. Wasn't sure the helmet would have done its job if it had been more than a simple lowside at the track.
