Is there anything telling what the student did to set her off?

I can't see this video..blocked at work but if it's the one I saw on tv yesterday they said something about the kid mocking/making fun of a special ed student or something and when she told him to stop he didn't stop immediately and then she went off on him. I'm not saying that's the facts but that is what I heard someone say when I was channel surfing. |

I believe Foxnews broke the story and in the text next to the video in the first link the school's principal says he was able to reviewed the video on Foxnews.

If thats the case, while I applaud her not turning a blind eye on that, as so many do these days, obviously beating a student like that is a little out of the ordinary.

As a teacher when I saw that I was appauled. There have been more than one time I wish I could lay hands on a student, like when one ran around my room 3 weeks after my husband was killed throwing things everywhere, threatening to poke kids eyes out with a chair leg and chanting "Mrs. C's husbands dead", over and over, but I have resisted.
We have to remember that we are the professionals, the adults and we can not sink to that level, no matter what the student has done to "deserve" it. And oh boy have I ever been tempted.... |
