I've had good luck with Remington in my old bolt action savage. Pretty accurate at 150 yards too. But I've read that the Colt doesn't like it.

Remington Subsonic is probably fine in a bolt or open breech gun but it doesn't run well in any of my semis

No, I have a 10/22 that hits what I shoot at, which was my point.

Sorry if my opinion of your friends future rifle threatened your manhood, big boy.

It's quite alright, I think he wants something nice that doesn't need to be accurate from 300 or whatever yards. It looks cool. It's not a serious rifle. Your opinion has been noted. Thanks.

Tru dat. I loved the heavy barreled Savage I used to have. It was a lot of fun.

I dont see in spending a lot on a .22l since the ammo is so dirty. Although cdnn is giving away free sig saur 522 with a 556 purchase.

The right tool for the job, FTW. I follow USMC protocol and always have more gun than I need. My .308 Win was always scoped and grained up for that 3-500 yd sniper shot, but I rarely shot at anything over 200. And the deer meat fell tenderized...
