I think the fam has the Garmin Nuvi 260W (widescreen).
Good stuff, great restaurant search, day/night functions, large screen, gone on multiple vacations and no problems.... The thing I do have to comment on is the voice command. With all of todays technology and such, why do they still use the choppy monotone female voice from the 90's???? Don't you think they could deliver a better/smoother speech package.... Other than that great choice....

When I first used one, I had never even looked at one. Picked it up, played with it a minute and was ready to go, VERY mom friendly, Id say even my mom could figure it out and she just learned about text msging! |

I've got a Garmin Nuvi 200 for work and a Nuvi 200W for personal use. I like them.

Never used a TomTom but the Garmin's I've had have all been great quality. The c330 we got for my wife has been great. Huge button (touch screen target areas) and pretty simple interface. I highly recommend Garmins.

I posted this in OSP's GPS thread as well, but I wanted to thank everyone for there help in giving me advice on GPS stuff. I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 650 for my mother for Christmas, and it seems to have excellent reviews across a number of sites. I hope she likes it, but if she doesn't, I think I can put it to use. Thanks again everyone!
