Did you notice some of those "reasons to live in Houston" are rankings for the state of Texas?

I've been working/living in Houston on a temp basis for almost 3 months now. I've lived previously in small town Indiana, Indy, and Fort Lauderdale.
I hate Houston. Houston is like the bad part of Miami with horrible weather. The traffic is bad. Even the good parts of town have horrible crime rates. The roads are crap, I couldn't even imagine riding on them. Everything is based out of strip malls, even most bars. Every flippin' HWY is a toll road. Oh, and did I mention the weather is horrible. The only people I've met that enjoy this town have only lived in this town (and maybe a college town). I can only assume ignorance is bliss. On a lighter note, I've heard Austin and San Antonio are nice places to visit. I am looking to pull myself away from work and visit places like the Alamo and the Houston Space center. |

I will tell you now though, be prepared to be very disappointed with the Alamo. It's boring and small and no one has visited there without feeling like something was missing. But Ripley's and the Wax Museum are just across the street! (don't trust me though, I grew up in SA and I don't get why anyone ever goes there for pleasure) Quote:
