Supercar performance from a 638hp supercharged V8 engine, carbon fiber bodywork and sharp styling should all add up to a price tag in the $200,000+ range if you look to the competition, but the Corvette ZR1's unmatched value put its sticker price at just $104,920 for 2009. The standard Corvette also saw a slight price rise this year, up $365, though it also gets the upgraded launch control and traction management systems.

this was kinda my argument against the zr1 in the first place. You're demanding six figures for whats basically a factory built version of the most common aftermarket mod path. for that kind of money i want something you cant clone, gimmie a flatplane crank or a lsx based v10 or 12, hell just put dohc heads on it again with cam on bucket architecture and spin the fucker to 10k. Anything but what they did. Fuck

Well I'm sure GM will be selling crate LS9's, someone will sell CF body panels, you could build your own probably for less than Hennessey. Now they might do more engineering to the package than that, or not.

And that's why the 90-95 ZR1 was so special, it had an engine that couldn't be duplicated by the aftermarket.

Still rather have a 65-67 convertible with side pipes, but that's another subject.
