This for me. I like both. Lately though between my career, 2+ hour a day commute, and raising my son I just want to go somewhere quiet and hang out with him. I rented a house on a tiny island that's like going back to the 60's. We leave Wed.

I am all about the adventure travel/vacation. Getting out of the typical tourist areas and really experiencing the location as the locals do, is hands down the best way to travel.

Oddly enough, many are surprised when they find out I'm American - "shouldn't you be at the resort?"

I got lucky with J, he's as into doing active stuff as I am so we dont have to do stuff by ourselves unless we want to.

This is my preferred mode of travel too. All over Europe this way....Mexico too. I really REALLY want to go to Bolivia next....just gotta work out enough time to make it worth the effort of getting down there....want to stay for at least a couple of weeks.

Just an idea I had for messing with the whale wars people. They are always launching disgusting shit at the Japs, it would be fun to launch meat (bacon) at them for laughs. They are all vegetarians.
