I wondered how much of it was supposed to be the hidden cameras that supposedly caught everything on camera during the games. My friend said there was a lot of the hand-held effect that I really hate when it's not necessary.

Got it for cheap and it's a good streaming/Netflix platform. Wish it did Hulu, still got to use the Xbox for that or I would get rid of the Xbox since I don't really play games anymore on it.

I have a shitload of apple stuff. An iMac, a bunch of airport expresses, airport extreme, Apple TV, iPad 3, and my wife has an iPhone 4S. I know what I am talking about when it comes to Apple stuff.

Its clear when it is something caught on camera, and when its a 3rd person POV. The handheld cameras were used during action sequences, it isnt bad, it adds a sense of urgency

I thought this movie was good too. Surprisingly good. The first scene when the kids are released on each other is fucking epic. Lots of good kid on kid killing.

Read the book, thought the movie was better in a lot of ways. I liked how they showed stuff going on the capital, when the book was all from the girl's point of view of the entire shit.

You get a lot more detail on some aspects from the book, that would of been nice to know in the movie, like the dogs at the end were actually zombified mutant kids that were killed previously. That was awesome.

I have read the book. If I know a movie is coming out, I generally prefer to see the movie first. That way, the movie can be good and the book is better but, it doesn't ruin the movie. Usually, if you read the book first, it's hard to enjoy the movie as much but, there are exceptions.

Second book is really good, can't wait for the 2nd movie. I definitely see why girls like this now. The author really plays up the empowering Women theme. Poor arranged marriage girl from backwoods appalachia takes on the big bad man controlled government.

On to the third...

It's funny how it all started for me! A friend I graduated with called me and told me his pre-teen daughter asked him to read the books since she had read them and he figured it would be a good bonding experience. Three books later, he's telling me to read them. I read the first and then my wife read it and now she's on the second book which I'll read when she's done.
It's not often a Scholastic published book gets my attention but, I like them.
