I have an 87 with 170k I paid 2800 for... looks like shit... but runs like brand new.
if you go with a toyota that's pre 95... get the 4cyl. the 22R or 22RE (re is fuel injected) the 3.0L V6 is an ok motor... but sub par when it comes to Toyota. 95-97 I'd go with the 2.4L 4 cycl... after 97 hit up the 3.4l awesome motor... but after 97 your gonna be seeing prices of 10k+ toyotas just re-sell well |

good buy... though make sure it's the 22re... and you may want to kick those tires down... or have it geared... I run 33's on my 87 with the 22R (about 5hp less than the re) but my truck is a couple hundred pounds lighter. and I can BARELY hit 75 on a flat... and that's with no wind.
Gearing it would cost about a grand... but a set of 4.88 gears would put you back to stock... Stock tires with 4.10 gearing was 27"! |

do you absolutely NEED such a big vehicle? if not, find a smaller truck with a more economical setup. although you ARE up north too, you guys actually USE your 4 wheel drive, down here we never "NEED" it, people just buy it for looks.

Investment??? Dude... no car unless its a classic in mint... is a investment... forget about it!!! A car serves a purpose... either as a hobby or as transportation. Sometimes both but I don't recommend it... you don't want your hobby to break down if its transportation to work that pays for it. |

kinda why the rc wont work as a daily driver, works for a lil whole, but i need to do some stuff to it this winter that will take it out of commission for a few days or even longer
