they cant realy push meds or anything like that or do many invasive procedures whereas a paramedic can.

its helpful around here becasue there are so many bullshit 911 calls that they send the emt's on mostof those and save the paramedics for the real emergencies.

I don't think that law says anything about what you HAVE to do, it simply says you can't be held liable if you DO render aid.

The good samaritan law I'm pretty sure means that if someone is choking and you try to help them by giving them CPR (which isn't going to help) and the person dies, then you aren't held liable. But if you are a paramedic, doctor, emt, etc (I'm assuming up to date on your certification) and you try to give CPR to someone who is choking then you are held liable since any EMT should know in that case to do the Heimlich.

EMTs not being protected could be a factor in their decision to do nothing (despite that's all they probably could do).

Unless these EMTs were specifically called to help this women, I don't see any illegal activity here. Non compassionate, sure, but not illegal.

I think there are parts of it where youre responsible as much as a layperson woul dbe in that yuo would call 911 or get help but again I am not sure if youre realy obligated to.
