Close friends and family only for me. Had too much stuff come back damaged, including a bicycle almost exactly like what happened to cruzergirl.
I'm kind of weird about my moto, though. I'd probably let a fellow rider acquaintance (i.e. you suckas) borrow it if they were in town and needed something to ride. Not a random stranger, though. |

Do you loan your stuff out? NO
My old Probe can be used by my older sisters, Mom, or Erik. My new car or the bike, only Erik can drive or ride. There is one guy at work that I would also let drive or ride (he has let me ride his bike). But no one else. Period. |

I would say more "Depends who it is"
I have lent my bike out, but the lendee let me take his '72 911T for a spin. Me and my other friend always traded bikes, but if one of us wrecked, the other would get his bike until the other one was fixed. I have also been on the recieving end. When I went to NY to meet Steve and Joy, Joy lent me her bike after meeting me for the first time.

Rarely. Two people other than me have ridden my bike. The great OTB, who found the bike for me, and my wife's cousin, who I've ridden with since day 1.
Other stuff I will but dont like to loan out. Depends who and what.

I don't typically loan stuff out, but I borrow stuff a lot and I'm very grateful.
I have loaned money out to a close friend and both of my brothers at different times. The friend had piss poor credit, her car died, she found a killer deal on a 'new one' and since I was giving her a ride everywhere for the 2 months she went without a car, we gave her the cash to buy it. She paid us back within a few months with her tax return. No biggie for us, but it made all the difference in the world for her. My brothers...well actually they have never paid me back, but whatever. |

I absolutely do not loan money. It's ruins friendships, and, more importantly, I have no money to loan.

It can ruin friendship....it didn't ruin mine. But her and I are like sisters, we lived together at the time and I knew she was good for it, but was going to miss her opportunity if she had to wait until she got her tax return. She's still my BFF.
