There is a line you don't cross while at work. He took a flying leap over it. And when you make that much money, you should try not to do something stupid that could get your ass fined or fired.

Its just common sense.

You have to have some common sense with what you say while on the job and who you say it to. You are representing your company. When you say something that some over-sensitive or P.C. asshat finds offensive, you are putting the company at risk of lawsuit.

This is basic stuff in the professional workplace; anyone who doesn't get that shouldn't be working in such an environment.

They had a mic on, one that can be heard by many if keyed up. Also everything in the cockpit is recorded.

So if you have a mic connected to a pa system that can be heard by the whole building you might want to be careful talking about that hot new receptionist. Or if your open window is only feet from the smoking area.

I know your head can't be that thick that you can't understand that.

God damn, Ed - your grammar and spelling is actually hurting my brain.

It's simply erring on the side of caution, when you are in your place of work or representing your employer outside of the office. It's watching what you say and do when you are around the general population at work. It's also not being a dumbass and leaving your speakerphone on (or a radio mic) or unmuted when you decide to talk shit. And watching what you say about work or the people you work with when you are in a public place and can be overheard. Etc.

As it has already been said in here, it's using common sense. If you don't, you risk facing the consequences. Not saying it is right - saying that's the way it is and if you want to work in a professional environment, you should know this.
