Animals, papers, bikes, guns, MC gear, eh what else is there to take?

We're compiling a firebox... Basically a fireproof briefcase we hopefully can grab on the way out of a burning house. Comprised of important paperwork, heirlooms and a picture hard copies.

Bastrop Fire. We drove on the tollway that goes past the area. It looked like a volcano - after seeing it from where we were it is not difficult to imagine these photos being the real deal.

From the fire by my house:

If it's fireproof, why would you have to take it?

Because the sneaky shits don't tell you that just because the case will not burn, does not mean the insides will not heat up to several hundred degrees..

huh, that plane is down here flying around

Fire Retardant-Dumping DC-10 Helps 3-County Fire

"But Texas Fire Service spokeswoman Holly Huffman said the plane was instead sent to fight blazes in Grimes, Montgomery and Waller counties. The agency said those wildfires, which have blackened more than 15,000 acres, were 60 percent contained Friday."

We don't, but it means making all the phone calls we'd have to make later while the house is still smoldering.

Being proactive with a house fire > waiting for someone else to do everything for me

It's also just if we HAVE to grab one material object while hustling the animals out, that's what we grab.

I'm amazed that the one thing that HAS to be taken is ur guns!!! lol

We see alot of fires in CA....every year it's the same mojo. The difference is the smoke here has nowhere to go as it gets pushed between the mountains to the east and the ocean to the west. So....you can't see 100 feet in the air as well as ash falling everywhere.

Be lucky your air quality after the fires are out isn't going to be too bad for all that long.

That's pretty smart calling your home phone and seeing if the answer machine picks up. I never would have thought of that. Of course I dont have a phone lan line.
