I have been to a Vette gathering with my dad. It was full of people like him, older mid age crisis fogeys who know nothing about driving a vette fast and just bought it to cruise around in. It was boring as shit.

I went to the Atlanta dragway a while back where a Vette club came. They couldn't fit the stereotype of a vette driver any better. My mom's minivan had better times than those fuckers. It sucks because Vettes are badass cars.

The Chevy Corvette = World's fastest golfcart.

Corvette seats are always less-bolstered than they are other sports cars, because Chevy knows how many lard-asses drive them

The wife and I went to a couple of meetings/gatherings several years ago and said "We're OUT !!"

Mine runs pretty decent and although I don't drive it as much as I used to...mainly due to the bikes and the boat...gets driven like a performance car should be.

Oops missed this one...I don't know about his but mine's never been back to a dealership and the only "fixing" has been to tune or add performance parts.

Hope I didn't just jinx myself and now something on it breaks.

I guess they have to cut corners somewhere to give that much performance for the $$...BUT there are a lot of lard-asses that drive them...no argument there.

*edit* Oh and I'm not brand loyal or American car loyal either...but I have enjoyed this car.

The VP of Marketing here (who is also my neighbor ) has a Z06 Vette....every time I walk past it on my way in to the office it has his golf clubs in the back.

I'm like, dude, come on....loan me the keys for an afternoon....let me at LEAST get the tires and brakes scrubbed in properly for you. He just laughs and says....I didn't buy it to "hot rod around" in.....

That line is so ridiculous that it leaves me speechless every time he says it.

I don't know a car I haven't "hot rodded around in"

I had an 85 for escort that I drifted (i.e. pull up the emergency brake and get sideways) around the tight stuff when I was in high school

Gawd knows what kinda stupid stuff I'd do in a vette Prob what Randy does every time he cranks his
