Wireless Vs. Wired Internet.
I've been having some problems trying to connect to some COD4 servers today, and i was thinking it was my wireless connection (I've been wireless for about 2 years). So i did a speed test before i hooked up the cat4 cable and got these results.
around 5 mbps download and around .7mbps upload. not bad, wish the upload was faster, but eh. Now i plug in my cable, and connect to the LAN, and fire up the speed test. Holy fucking shit. Double the Download rate? thats rediculous. Anybody else notice difference like this with wireless and regular LAN? |

I have no idea what that means. You want faster upload for gaming, right?

Yes I can tell a big difference between my wired and wireless connections. I have an 802.11 G router with an 892.11 N modem. Not sure if thats the difference, but when my wireless router breaks, I'm going with the N router as a replacement. I think I may replace the router anyway. It's a Netgear, should have gone with the Linksys.

you will always have a faster connection wired. will you see a difference, probably not. it all comes down to what you are doing and who you are connected to.
who plays on xbox post up your screen name. mine is m0n1.
