If you gain weight I can guarantee you WILL want to lose some around the midsection, so........ I don't see why you need to put off working out until you gain weight first.

Just start working out, do lunges and squats, and your ass will build muscle. It doesn't matter if you lose weight at the same time, you will still be improving the shape of your ass by building muscle.

Very little actually. But can you point to anything I've said that requires being a bodybuilder to know?

Dunno why you guys think this is a bodybuilding thread. So far only 101 and Ty have posted anything specific to bodybuilding. The rest is commom sense general health.

This thread is touching on health and nutrition...APA format is appropriate.

If you're putting that much time and energy into eating and working out, then you'd better be a monster. Otherwise you're like a dude on an r1 with 3 inch chicken strips.

Essentially talking the talking, not so much walking the walk.

And there's nothing wrong with being knowledgeable about a subject. But at the same time, wouldn't you wanna take fitness advice from somebody with the same ideas and goals? Somebody who can say, "I've done this, and here are the results.."

I never said getting big does equal fitness. But, being fit most times corresponds with having muscles.

Being healthy is different than being fit, which is different than being jacked which is different than having good cardio.

Healthy can mean good cholesterol, fit can mean a 6 pack, jacked can mean 18 inch arms and good cardio can mean you can run a marathon.
Now, ask each individual from that group how they train and eat, and they'll all tell you a different answer.

But, they'll all tell you the one thing that works above all, is sticking to your program. You can eat like shit, and as long as you're active, you'll be more healthy.

Hmm, basically all I did for this thread was grab a bag of brocolli from the frig and read what was on the package. And stuff like how you can't spot-reduce fat is just common knowledge. I never posted a detailed diet plan or workout plan, like a couple other people did. So I'm not sure how you think I spend all that much time & energy on diet and fitness. And as for being a bodybuilder, I workout like 70-80% of everyone else does, and yeah that includes weight training, but doing weight training doesn't make you a bodybuilder.
