Brick and mortar stores have overhead that a website doesn't. Having a salesperson guide you in your purchase is an added cost, as is the floor space of the physical location.

Too bad that sales people aren't worth a damn anymore.

two things. web site product costs no overhead. It ships from manuf to you or to store for your immediate pickup.

#2 you have to pay shipping on web site product thereby making the prices equal usually.

At least as of a year or so ago, Walmart did the same thing- the GPS i was looking at was $50 less on-line, but the price was for on-line orders only.

Sucks when you need something NOW.

i rarely bother buying electronics in-store anymore, i get everything from newegg.com.

We just picked up a tv at bestbuy. I looked online first and then we walked into the store. The price was $79 higher in the store. I told the sales person they had it on their site for less. He checked and knocked off the $79 no questions asked.

if you are dealing with a store that has brick and mortar, you can usually get them to ship for free to their store and get it at the online price.

Same here and have saved a ton of $$ by doing so. So far I've never been "bitten".

Free shipping and no sales tax is the ticket if you can find it.

The point is. If they're gonna have a website that has a price that is different than store price, they need to have both prices on the website. I know they wont do that cause someone will see a deal and drive to the store and get a big surprise that they wont honor the price and hope they still buy the item at store price.

How am I suppose to know that it's an "internet only" sale price when all it sales is "sale price." There's a difference there.....

I don't disagree with this at all...that is pretty jacked up unless the website states "internet pricing only" or something close to that affect...especially being the same exact store.

Up here on the Best Buy site they state directly if a deal is "web only." It greatly simplifies things.
