Hello there pot...meet kettle.

I dont disagree, they can be very odd, but properly socialized they are great, good functioning members of society. There are all kinds of play dates and groups that you can get kids into as well as things like marshal arts and sports that would do it.

Home school kids are a direct product of their environment. My older sister is socially retarded, and so her home schooled kids are socially retarded. Josh, your home schooled kids wouldn't be so socially retarded...

I was different in k-12 school. I was a drunk lacrosse player in high school that never did homework and made C's without studying anything. I never tried before I went to college. I hated public school.

But 8 hours of socialization a day vs. the hour or so he would get in sports or martial arts while being home schooled....its a big difference.

Granted, if they're not even allowed to talk at lunch how much socialization are they really getting. I keep picturing the kids walking into the meat grinder...

Educationally I know he would be so much more advanced if home schooled, but I'm not sure that he would be happier.

I agree with you. No recess and no talking is not socialization at all. How much worse could home schooling be? Take'em to the playground for an hour every day and they'd get more.

Elves dave, elves.
