Not necessarily you, Kyle but a lot of guys I know have ditched their crotch rockets and bought these types of bikes because of "safety" and a fear of crashing. I guess I'm not sure how shooting down a two track at 80+ mph with trees within inches of your bars can be considered "safe"?

Well, I'm certainly not buying because of that. I freakin love nature, so I want to do more off-the-bike camping. I also want something that is comfy over long distances and can eat up trails as well.

I'm looking at doing the trans west virginia trail this summer.....
