Leave off the skid plates unless you are going to Mongolia or the Yukon, otherwise they will just increase heat

I just wanted to point out the need for a skid plate, granted this bike was just really abused and ridden well beyond what it was designed for, he was trying to keep up with a group of trail bikes on a rock packed trail when we hit some whoops. The bike survived the first few jumps but started bellowing smoke. Nobody could actually get up to him to let him know, he only stopped once his oil/check engine light came on. The bike was empty at that point. JB Weld and borrowed oil and he was able to ride it out.
