Default Lost my wallet!!

Cancelled all my cards and had no transactions on them. Don't carry cash. But unfortunately I have a Missouri license in Tennessee so that is a pain. And my SS card was in it.

Anyone know if I need to call the police and report it missing since it has all my information in it?

I don't expect them to really do anything, more just want to report it so they know there is someone out there potentially using my information.

If your ss card was in there I would do a police report and also do an alert on your credit report. With the interent now days, people have that and they can open any type of account. However with an alert the company has to call you.... Just my thoughts...

how do you do an alert on my credit report? There are several different reporters our there aren't there?

n/m...started my free credit report rotations and you can put on a 90-day alert thru any one of the big 3. But can't cause of the holiday, of course no new accounts can open either I guess

you can on-line/call the credit bureau and tell them you lost your wallet with your ss card in it. without a police report the alert is good for about 90 days, i believe its considerably longer with a police report. http://www.fightidentitytheft.com/fraud_numbers.html has lots of info.

thanks, I'm gonna call first thing in the morning. Just gonna do the 90-days. You can do the 90-days if there is a situation where you think someone might be able to steal your identity (ie. lost wallet), the next step up is if you have a police report because you think someone actually has stolen your identity. atleast that is how I translated it

That fucking sucks. I lost mine on a ride last year. Blew goats. Some good samaritan mailed it to me...already cancelled every thing...but it was nice to get it back.
