Default how does this work? MP3 related.

so i have a copy of Greatest hits from Van Halen, this thing must be 15-20 yrs old.

i got it converted to mp3, and have it on my phone. well my phone recognizes the band/record and song title.

did they encode this stuff way back then?

Interesting.
I have just about every release from Van Halen in various formats, Cassete, LP, CD...

When I wanted to load a little Van Halen on the MP3 player,
I went and downloaded the entire discography in the format I needed.

Well you see what the did was get some muffler bearings and used them to replace the blinker fluid....

Whoever did the conversion inputted the album information at the time of conversion.

The software used for conversion can also download the info from the net because a lot of media players will recognize the CD. This was from a CD right?
