I think any reasonable person would know that if you walk around with a gun on your hip someone will call it in. the cop will ask you about it when they are called. if you're legal no big deal.

Right. And, the officer was kind enough to explain that. That he didn't need to show ID but, he needed to at least identify himself. The officer wasn't even a jerk about it.

I think some people don't understand the difference between "required" and "common courtesy" - I still maintain the guy was a douche and the cop did awesome.
