Only the 1098R comes with a slipper. The base and S models come with a good ol' ball-smashing regular clutch. Pistons that are almost 6 in across make some massive engine braking...

I'm surprised the S doesn't have one.

Mine are just a tick over 4in... but I still love my slipper.

Yeah, you're right. 4.09 inches or 140mm. Fucking metric system...

I don't do math. Luckily, my girl is an accountant so I don't have to!

Yup. I have the Surflex on the 748, and this one is the four spring MotoWheels that uses the Surflex plates. The only thing Randy (my mechanic) told me to worry about is it eating plates. So, I have a spare set of plates here waiting.

i hear a slipper doesnt just make downshifting smoother, but theres no need to match revs AT ALLl, just downshift-as in foolproof.

that true?

Not sure on the Ducs, but on the 1125, it is pretty much true except for 2-1 shift.
I still match revs a bit, to make it smoother yet, but I've tried just jamming it down, and it takes it, no wheel lock up. Except for 2nd to 1st. That's a bit jerky without a blip.
