Some of the VT victims and their families have been trying to close the gun show "loophole" in particular for a number of years now. I don't really understand why they picked that specific issue since the VT shooter didn't get his guns using that loophole.

Nothing new here. Depends on the dealer/seller

Some ask and some don't.

The local gun shows around me aren't worth a tinker. Store prices or worse on new/used guns and bulk ammo prices that are not a great deal.

Sometimes it pays to have a dealer in the family. He is just not a plastic gun fan, trying to change his mind though.
